Miss Karla has been teaching at Stoney Brook Dance Company since 1999, and has been Artistic Director since 2003. Miss Karla became SBDC’s studio owner in 2007. She received her training at the Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts in Toronto, Ontario. Miss Karla has successfully passed her Advanced Tap & Jazz examinations with honours, and holds a Major Level Ballet Certificate. She is a certified A.D.A.P.T. Jazz & Tap instructor and is qualified to enter students into Al Gilbert exams. She has also passed her Associate Membership examination with the Canadian Dance Teachers Association. Miss Karla has choreographed and performed in various musical productions, and from 1994-1997, ran her own small musical theatre company in Saskatchewan. She is very excited for another dance season at SBDC, and wishes all our dancers the best of luck!

Miss Kimberley has been teaching at Stoney Brook Dance Company since 2007. She is a certified Pilates instructor and personal trainer. Miss Kimberley has a solid understanding of biomechanics, muscular and ligament structures that is amplified by her many practical years as a patient of physiotherapy, massage and shiatsu. In addition to her Pilates training, she has also taught ballet, tap and jazz, and has been an adjudicator, traveling to various dance competitions. Miss Kimberley has been a professional dancer, singer, and actor for over thirteen years. She has been featured in award winning musicals such as Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Cats, Showboat, and Beauty and the Beast. Miss Kimberley is a Certified Pilates Matwork & Equipment Instructor (Body Harmonics), Full Member of Canadian Dance Teachers Association, Member of the Canadian Actors Equity Association, Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television & Radio Artists. Miss Kimberley is very excited to be working with our pilates students again this year!

Miss Candace is excited to be teaching at SBDC this season. She has completed our teachers training program. Miss Candace began dancing at the age of 9 and has studied Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop with us ever since. She was an original member of our senior company. She is actively training in Cecchetti Ballet, ADAPT Jazz and Al Gilbert Tap syllabi. Miss Candace has successfully completed her Advanced 1Ballet, Intermediate 3 Jazz and Grade 7 Tap exams. She has attended various workshops and conventions including Triple Threat (Winnipeg), The Pulse (Minneapolis) and iDance (Winnipeg) where she had the pleasure of working with such teachers as Mia Michaels, Wade Robson and Terra Jean Popowich. She was also selected to travel to Paris for the summer of 2009 to dance with Terra Jean Popowich, the winnier of SYTYCDC 2009. Miss Candace is thrilled to be woring with our students this dance season!

Miss Stephanie McLean has been teaching at Stoney Brook Dance Company since 2004. She received her dance training here at SBDC, and since the age of 4 has studied Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Pointe and Musical Theatre. She is the first of our own students to successfully complete our Teacher’s Training Program, in which she started assisting at age 12. She is a certified A.D.A.P.T. Jazz & Tap instructor, and has successfully entered students into Al Gilbert Tap examinations, and A.D.A.P.T. Jazz & Tap examinations. Miss Stephanie is actively training in Tap, and has completed the Al Gilbert Tap syllabus. She has also successfully completed numerous Musical Rudiments Theory, and Musical Composers and History examinations under the Royal Conservatory of Music, receiving honours and first class honours with distinction. Miss Stephanie is very excited to be teaching at SBDC again this dance season!

Miss Amanda has been teaching at Stoney Brook Dance Company since 2004. She received her training through the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School and graduated from their 3-year Teachers Training Program, Professional Division. She has studied all levels of the Cecchetti syllabus and taken classes in Vaganova Ballet, Modern Dance, Anatomy, Pilates, Nutrition, and Music & Art History. Miss Amanda is a certified A.D.A.P.T. teacher. She holds an Associate Certificate (Cecchetti branch) and an Applied Anatomy Certificate with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. Miss Amanda has completed her Advanced 1 Cecchetti, Intermediate R.A.D., Intermediate 1 Jazz and Intermediate 3 Tap A.D.A.P.T. examinations. Miss Amanda is excited to work with SBDC students again this year!

Miss Cammie is very excited to be teaching with Stoney Brook Dance Company. She has been dancing with us since the age of 10, taking classes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop. Miss Cammie was one of our original senior company members. She is actively training in Cechetti Ballet and ADAPT Jazz syllabi having sucessfully completed her Advanced 1 Ballet exam in 2010. She has taken various workshops and conventions including Triple Threat (Winnipeg), The Pulse (Minneapolis and Florida) and 5678 (Winnipeg) where she had the pleasure of working with such teachers as Mia Michaels and Wade Robson. Miss Cammie also spent 2 years as a member of the Un1te Dance Company in Winnipeg (hip hop). She is very excited to be working with our students this year and hopes everyone has a wonderful year!

Miss Miranda has been dancing since the age of 10 taking classes in Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop. She began her dance training in Strathmore where she was able to participate in various competitions and conventions throughout Alberta. Miss Miranda moved to Steinbach in 2007 and has been dancing with us ever since. She has successfully passed her Intermediate Ballet and Jazz examinations in the Cecchetti and A.D.A.P.T. syllabi and holds her Grade 6 Tap in the Al Gilbert syllabus. She also continues to take classes with us as she works to further her dance training. Miss Miranda is thrilled to be working with our young students this year!
