Jazz

ADAPT Syllabus

Jazz is offered as a stand-alone class for dancers ages 5 and up, and is also introduced alongside Tap and Ballet in our combination classes.

Jazz is a fun, energetic, and expressive dance style that focuses on strong technique, dynamic movement, musicality, and performance quality. Dancers will work on skills such as kicks, turns, jumps, isolations, leaps, flexibility, coordination, and body control, while learning how to move with power, style, and confidence.

Through the ADAPT syllabus, students build a strong technical foundation while developing strength, stamina, flexibility, rhythm, and stage presence. Jazz encourages dancers to explore different movement qualities, from sharp and powerful to smooth and expressive, helping them become versatile and confident performers.

This class is a great choice for dancers who love upbeat music, energetic choreography, and the opportunity to bring personality and expression into their movement.

Jumps and Turns

(For levels Jazz 6 (Inter), Senior Jazz, and Advanced Jazz)

Jumps and Turns is a technique-focused class designed to enhance and build on jazz dance training. Dancers will work on developing the strength, control, alignment, flexibility, and coordination needed to execute a variety of jumps and turns commonly used in jazz choreography.

This class will focus on proper technique, body placement, balance, spotting, elevation, transitions, and safe execution. Dancers will have the opportunity to break down skills, build consistency, and apply their technique to movement combinations that support their overall jazz training.

Jumps and Turns is mandatory for Intensive dancers as part of their continued technical development. It is also optional for Recreational dancers who are looking to challenge themselves, improve their skills, and gain confidence in their jazz technique.

Please note that this class is for skill development only and does not include a performance component.
