LYRICAL

Ages 8 & up- We’re thrilled to make this popular style available to our younger dancers this season.

Lyrical is an expressive dance style that blends the technique of Ballet and Jazz with emotional storytelling and musical interpretation. Dancers learn to connect movement with the lyrics, mood, and meaning of the music, using their bodies to communicate feeling, expression, and artistry.

In this class, students will work on elements such as fluid transitions, extensions, turns, leaps, balance, control, and expressive movement quality. Contemporary dance concepts may also be introduced, allowing dancers to explore creativity, dynamics, breath, and personal expression within their choreography.

Lyrical is a wonderful class for dancers who enjoy graceful, meaningful movement and want to grow as both technical and expressive performers. To support the technique required for this style, students must also be registered in at least one Ballet and/or Jazz class.
